We had a busy September launching a new ministry year! I hope you were encouraged by our worship and fellowship together.

This month started off in celebration with our Camp Agincourt Sunday. We took time out of our service to celebrate all that God did during Camp Agincourt in August, and the children got to share some of the stories, lessons and songs they learned during their time at day camp.

Not long after that, we launched our new ministry year with Rally Weekend. I hope you made it out to join us. It was a great opportunity to pray and look forward to all the ways that God will be challenging us to fulfill our mission to “share Christ with our community” over the next year.

Our ministry theme this year is illuminate. We are going to spend this year focusing on two of our core values: Local Outreach and Global Missions. We launched this new theme by looking at Isaiah 49:1-6 and Matthew 5:14-16, and trying to understand what scripture means when it says that we are to be a light to the nations, sharing God’s hope with a dark world.

I hope you’ll join us for the month of October. This month we will focus on John 1, which gives us one of the most powerful and poetic pictures of who Jesus is: Word, Light and Life. We are going to spend the next ministry year looking at our mission, so we want to start right here with Jesus.

Of course we’ll also take time to celebrate Thanksgiving, and especially our 64th Anniversary service on Oct 29th! We will have a guest speaker from CBOQ, as well as a time of fellowship and celebration after the service, so please mark your calendars!!

It’s been a great September, and I look forward to exploring our theme of illuminate together this year!

In HIS grip,

Pastor Matthew Sampson
